Who is the Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship Level 3 For?

This qualification is ideal for learners who have supervisor/ management responsibilities but no formal training and are serious about developing your abilities.

It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Course Duration

This course will last 15 months and is delivered during normal working hours. Training can be flexible to meet the needs of your organisation. We use a blend of online, webinar and practical sessions, and the apprentice will receive regular 1-1 sessions and support from their tutor.

Entry Requirements

Learners will need to meet the following requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older
  • 5 GCSE’s (grade A* to C/9 to 5) or equivalent

What Will You Learn On a Team Leadership / Supervisor Apprenticeship?

Funding Options

This qualification is government funded and falls under the Apprenticeship Levy Scheme. For non-levy paying organisations, it requires a 5% employer contribution.

Total cost of training is £4,000. The employer is required to fund 5% of this equating to £225.

Business that have less than 50 employees won’t pay anything if they employ apprentices under the age of 19, and will receive a £1000 incentive payment. This will be discussed during the initial engagement to determine eligibility.

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to leading people, exploring areas such as leadership styles, supporting performance through coaching and role modelling, organisational culture and communication of organisational strategies and the team’s purpose, equality, diversity and inclusion, and managing change

Managing People

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to managing people, exploring areas such as management models, team dynamics and motivation, HR systems, legal requirements, performance management and review, appraisals, absence management, feedback and recognising achievement and good behaviour.

Building Relationships

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to building relationships, exploring areas such as customer and stakeholder relationships, emotional intelligence, managing conflict, cross team working to meet organisational objectives, negotiation and influencing skills and sharing good practice.

Communication

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to communication, exploring areas such as the different forms of communication and their application, chairing meetings, holding challenging conversations, active listening and providing constructive feedback

Operations Management

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to operational management, exploring areas such as organisational strategy, including communication and delivery, action planning and monitoring outcomes, managing resources, managing change, collecting and analysing data and the use of technology.

Project Management

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to project management, exploring areas such as project lifecycles and roles, managing resources, monitoring progress, identifying risks and issues, project management tools and successful project delivery.

Finance

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to finance, exploring areas such as organisational governance and compliance, delivering value for money and monitoring budgets.

Awareness of Self

Covering knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to having an awareness of your own attitude, learning and behaviour, exploring areas such as unconscious bias, inclusivity, learning styles, feedback mechanisms and emotional intelligence.

Management of Self

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to managing your responsibilities, duties and development, exploring areas such as time management techniques and tools, prioritising and planning activities, personal development planning and workload management.

Decision Making

Covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to decision-making, exploring areas such as effective problem-solving, analysing data to support decision-making and the escalation of issues.

Behaviours

Covering your behaviour in relation to your role as a team leader/supervisor, exploring areas such as taking responsibility, adopting an inclusive approach, flexibility, innovation and professionalism.
