Job Summary

We are looking for a trustworthy member of staff to join our small family based team in Kingswinford. The Role will contain everything that needs doing in the shop, from creating gifts down to cleaning. Day to day the role will consist mainly of serving customers with sweets in the shop and hot/cold drinks in the Café. As well as this, we will expect the staff member to design and create new and existing gifts for us to display and sell within the store as well as ensuring that all orders are made and ready for customers when needed.


The Staff member will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all orders are managed and completed in a timely manner, making sure that they are to a quality that the customer would be happy with
  • Analyse customers within the shop, in order to provide them with enthusiastic customer service tailored to them, ensuring that are happy and assisted where possible, to make their experience as smooth as it can be. Doing this will help to strengthen relationships with customers within the shop
  • Ensure that the shop is kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Ensure that all stock is managed and rotated correctly at all times, ensuring dates, ingredients and labels are managed where needed
  • Assisting with promotions and advertisements for the business, through social media posts, physical advertisements in and outside of the store, as well as verbally communication these promotions to the customers in store
  • Analyse trends, stock levels and customer orders/feedback in order to monitor and order stock for the shop


We are looking for someone that:

  • Is enthusiastic about customer service, pushing to get customers back into the shop time and time again by creating relationships with customers
  • Is time conscious and organised, being able to plan and prioritise jobs that need doing quickly or for a certain day/time.
  • Is good and confident with maths, being able to quickly work out costings and change for customers when needed
  • Has good communication skills, this will help when dealing with customers and also when preparing and promoting the shop either through verbal communication or with the aid of social media
  • Is comfortable working on their own, and is able to motivate themselves to do what is needed when in the shop, but also comfortable and productive when working with teams
  • Is presented well, speaks in a professional manner and that is dresses well and suitable for work in the business. This will help with brand and customer perspective moving forwards


Salary: £6.00 an hour.

Hours: 40 hours per week


What does the Apprenticeship Cover?

Our Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Level 2 lasts for 13 months and is made up of 13 modules that will cover the totality of the standards. These will be delivered through online and physical visits throughout the first 12 months of the qualification. During the first 12 months of the course, learners will develop a portfolio of their best work.

Learners will complete training and activities to cover 13 modules. These are completed through workbooks, practical sessions and observations and have been designed to meet the Customer Service Practitioner standard as well as the Level 2 Diploma for Customer Service Practitioners (RQF).

Any person that comes onto our apprenticeship programmes will in addition to the apprenticeship qualification have access to over 500 e-learning courses which you will gain certification for any undertaken. These are optional and not a requirement of the apprenticeship programme and totally free of charge.
