Become a Trained Operator within the Manufacturing Sector Today
The Performance Manufacturing Operations Level 2 Diploma has been created for individuals that are wishing to become a trained operator within the manufacturing sector.
Manufacturing is one of the largest industries out there – nearly everything we use, eat, drink, or travel in has been manufactured. As an apprentice, you could focus on either the engineering or manufacturing aspect of production.
The Apprentice could work as a Metal Worker and Machine operative, bending, punching, notching, shearing and cropping sheet metal fabrications, or as a CNC operator, operating Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines involved in batch production.
The course lasts 12 months. During this time the learner will be expected to complete their Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Improving Performance for Manufacturing Engineering Operations and complete their Level 2 RQF Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations. Throughout the qualification, the Apprentice will receive regular 1-1 sessions and support from their Tutor. We will work with you to create a portfolio of work to meet the criteria within the qualification.
Learners will complete training and activities to cover the mandatory units below. These are completed through workbooks, practical sessions and observations and have been designed to meet the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations. Learners will then complete optional units dependant on their job role. This will be discussed during the induction stage and a suitable pathway for the employer and employee will be chosen.
The apprentice will receive regular tutor support throughout their qualification. A blended learning approach will be used. They will have monthly face to face visits alongside regular email and phone contact. The resources on our Learner Management System have been designed to run in conjunction with the sessions, allowing the learner to research and review each topic with ease.
This qualification is government funded and falls under the new Apprenticeship Levy Scheme. Our Performance Manufacturing Operations qualification requires a 10% employer contribution. Total cost of training is £3,500. The employer is required to fund 10% of this equating to £350.
Business that have less than 50 employees won’t pay anything if they employ apprentices under the age of 19, and will receive a £1000 payment.
