Duration: 12 Months

Entry requirements: To be eligible for this course, you would ideally have at least 5 GCSE's (grade A* to C/9 to 5) or equivalent. This must include Maths and English. You must also have be working in a role which involves the development and delivery of learning to either groups or individuals regularly.

Develop your Teaching and Learning Skills to Deliver Unique Training to Individuals and Groups

The Learning and Development Level 3 Certificate has been created for individuals that currently operate in a learning and development role who want to develop their skills within the industry.

Throughout this qualfication you will develop knowledge and skills in delivering effective learning and development provision and/or carrying out assessment and assessment- related quality assurance activities for an organisation. You will learn about developing and assessing the skills, knowledge and competence of learners primarily in the workplace or in work-related programmes of learning.

The course lasts 12 months. During this time the learner will be expected to complete their Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development and their Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT at Level 2. Throughout the qualification, the Apprentice will receive regular 1-1 sessions and support from their Tutor. We will work with you to create a portfolio of work to meet the criteria within the qualification.

What does the Apprenticeship Cover?

Learners will complete training and activities to cover the mandatory units below. These are completed through workbooks, practical sessions and observations and have been designed to meet the Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development. Learners will then complete optional units dependant on their job role. This will be discussed during the induction stage and a suitable pathway for the employer and employee will be chosen.

All apprentices will have access to all the e-learning course on the system free of charge in addition to the courses built into the apprenticeship package. the apprenticeship package. Tutor Support

The apprentice will receive regular tutor support throughout their qualification. A blended learning approach will be used. They will have monthly face-face visits alongside regular email and phone contact. The resources on Apprentix have been designed to run in conjunction with the sessions, allowing the learner to research and review each topic with ease.

Funding Options

This qualification is government funded and falls under the new Apprenticeship Levy Scheme. Our Learning and Development qualification requires a 10% employer contribution. Total cost of training is £2,500. The employer is required to fund 10% of this equating to £250.

Business that have less than 50 employees won’t pay anything if they employ apprentices under the age of 19, and will receive a £1000 payment.


Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment

This unit assesses the knowledge and understanding a learning and development practitioner requires to underpin their practice.

Reflect on and Improve Own Practice in Learning and Development

The aim of this unit is to assess the competence of a practitioner to reflect on, evaluate and improve their learning and development practice.

Understanding the Employing Organisation

This unit covers the knowledge and understanding that employees require concerning:

The aims, objectives and structure of their organisation

The contribution they can make to the organisation’s objectives

Opportunities for professional and career development in the organisation

Facilitate Learning and Development in Groups

The aim of this unit is to assess a learning and development practitioner’s understanding of group dynamics and facilitating learning and development in groups. Learners are required to understand the use of a variety of methods, for example, presentations, instructions, demonstrations, small-group activities, skills practice and feedback, e-learning, blended learning, role plays, simulations or experiential learning.

Facilitate Learning and Development for Individuals

The aim of this unit is to assess a learning and development practitioner’s understanding of how to facilitate learning and development for individuals. The practitioner could be someone in a coaching or mentoring role. They are required to understand the use of a variety of methods.

Functional Skills

The learner will complete Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2 (GCSE Equivalent) if required
