PREPARING TO WORK IN ADULT SOCIAL CARE

Duration: 6 Weeks
Entry requirements: Are you 19 or over, unemployed and want to gain a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care. The course is fully funded by the government to help you gain employment.
This qualification and course is aimed at learners interested in working in adult social care in England. The aim is to introduce knowledge around the following areas relating to working in adult social care:
- Communication
- Personal development
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Safeguarding
- Duty of care
- Role of the social care worker
- Person-centred approaches.
- Health and safety
- Handling information
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- To develop knowledge related to working in an adult social care environment
- Develop skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life
- Learn about how to work with different types of individuals and organisations in the adult social care environment
- Achieve a nationally recognised level 2 qualification
- Develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning.
COURSE OUTLINE
During this period of lockdown due to Covid-19, the following delivery model will apply:
6 x 2-hour sessions, the full course will be delivered fully online
When the Covid-19 crisis is over, we will hope to revert to our usual delivery model:
1 day – Enrolment and Introduction to the course
5 days Classroom Teaching – Preparing to work in the Social Care setting
