Who is this course for?
The Performance Manufacturing Operations Level 2 training programme equips apprentices with the basic skills and knowledge to carry out a range of engineering and manufacturing processes at semi-skilled and operator level.
It is aimed at employees within the manufacturing sector whose main tasks require knowledge and experience necessary to operate, monitor and control plant and equipment, to assemble/produce products from components and to subject assembled parts to injection.

- Transferring materials safely and efficiently
- Controlling manufacturing operations
- Analysing the results of inspection and confirming quality of production
The duration of this apprenticeship is 13 months. During this time the learner will be expected to complete their Level 2 Certificate in Improving Performance for Manufacturing Engineering Operations and complete their Level 2 QCF Diploma in Performance Manufacturing Operations.
To be eligible for this course, you would ideally have at least 4 GCSE’s (grade A* to D/9 to 4) or equivalent. This will ideally include Maths and English. You must also already be working in a position where you deal with either manufacturing or engineering regularly.

The apprentice will receive regular tutor support throughout their qualification. A blended learning approach will be used. They will have monthly face to face visits alongside regular email and phone contact. The resources on our Learner Management System have been designed to run in conjunction with the sessions, allowing the learner to research and review each topic with ease.
This qualification is government funded and falls under the new Apprenticeship Levy Scheme. Our Performance Manufacturing Operations qualification requires a 5% employer contribution. Total cost of training is £3,500. The employer is required to fund 5% of this equating to £175.
Business that have less than 50 employees won’t pay anything if they employ apprentices under the age of 19, and will receive a £1000 payment.

The Performance Manufacturing Operations Level 2 Apprenticeship is designed for people working in an existing manufacturing or engineering role at entry or junior level.
